Students will always have math and reading homework. Students are to practice their adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division facts every day. Students will also read 20 minutes every night. We speak often in class about how great readers become great readers by practicing. This extra reading practice is essential for your child's reading development.
You may become a part of your child's homework experience by checking over the math sheets that come home from school. You may also ask your child questions about his/her reading when they have completed reading for 20 minutes. If you would like your child to have extra writing and handwriting practice, you may also ask them to write about what they have read for an additional 15 minutes.
